the Edan Laidlaw Scholarship
Edan Richard Laidlaw, an active, musical, and athletic young man, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 14 in January 2020. Known for his constant smile, Edan took piano lessons throughout grade school and played the saxophone in his middle school band. He was passionate about hockey, soccer, and basketball, and enjoyed snowboarding and snowmobiling. Like many teenagers, Edan loved playing video games, being on his phone, and listening to music. He was a loyal and caring friend, always happiest when surrounded by his friends, filling the room with smiles and laughter.
Edan traveled to many destinations with his family and joined the TAP family during our February 2019 service trip to Jamaica. With the help of his parents, Stephanie and Richard, Edan helped collect much-needed supplies and worked enthusiastically alongside other adults and youth.
In honor of Edan's memory, his parents generously donated this scholarship to keep his spirit alive. Though he is no longer physically with us, Edan's life continues to have a positive impact on the world.
